CIS degree offers great info and resources — Sep 14, 2009
By Leron O | 2nd year

Bachelors in Computers & IT, Online only

DeVry online offers accelerated classes. You must be self motivated and self disciplined in order to succeed. The Computer Information Systems degree offers great information and resources pertaining to subject matter being presented. There is great communication available if you need it. One interesting fact I have learned is that the majority of college graduates entering the IT field comes from DeVry. DeVry offers job placement with a reported 91% success rate within six months of graduation. Most software needed, and some extra, are provided, most free of charge. The software that you do have to pay for is discounted through the school. The only weakness I have found is the cost of tuition, which for the CIS program is $575 per credit hour.

Online interactions give new ways of learning — Sep 10, 2009
By James M | 2nd year

Bachelors in Computers & IT, Online only

The interaction with other students and instructors gives new ways of learning the material. The old way of reading a book and writing a report on what you should have learned, just never worked for me. Having someone to talk to any time I have a question works great for me.

Good if you like faster pace — Sep 10, 2009
By Chad M | 3rd year

Bachelors in Science & Engineering, Online only

If you need someone to spoon feed you the lesson plans orally, this may not be the school for you. If you feel that in a traditional school setting, the courses take too long because other students can't keep up, but you wish it went at a faster pace, then DeVry U. online is a great school for you.

School is insanely expensive — Sep 10, 2009
By Sabrina G | 1st year

Bachelors in Computers & IT, Online only

Keep looking. This school is insanely expensive plus they MAKE you buy their eBooks at whatever price they want to charge. No selling it back to the bookstore. And it's an eBook so you have to read it on your PC or laptop. I would not recommend this school to anyone. I will be transferring once the current semester is finished. Advisement/support is zero. They just ignore your problem and hope you go away.

By Rosalyne S | 1st year

Bachelors in Computers & IT, Online only

Take your time. Be sure this is something you really want to do and can stick with. You have to motivate yourself to participate in this program, but you have to be absolutely focused otherwise, you will fail.

Great but expensive — Sep 10, 2009
By Samantha R | 4th year

Bachelors in Medical & Nursing, Both online and campus

The school is great but expensive. If you can go to a community college or even a four year University then do it because the price to go to DeVry is way more than it is worth. Student Finance Department is not very knowledgeable about helping the student get the most out of their finances and is not really willing to help.

They focus on the quality and value of the program and school and their personal experiences with the courses, faculty, peers, student services, financial aid, and other aspects of the program. They are based on the student's experience, not second-hand information or hearsay, and are meant to be relevant to prospective students.
