Not recommend for an advanced degree in psychology — Oct 01, 2009

Masters in Social Science & Psychology, Online only
Do not do this is you are looking for a degree in psychology. The education program is a better bet - as soon as you get a higher level degree your pay goes up - no matter what school it is as long as it is accredited. Personally, I think the Master's programs in psychology are substandard especially if you have a good GPA from undergrad. I am an excellent student - I graduated summa cum laude in undergrad and received high scores on my GRE - I feel the education provided by Walden is not useful in everyday life, and the grading is too easy. I feel that anyone can get an A as long as they do the work. It's not about the quality. The professors are uninvolved, however, when you do something they don't like, they appear out of nowhere. I would not recommend this school to anyone pursuing an advanced degree in psychology.
Great place to get the basics — Sep 13, 2009

If you struggled through high school and undergrad college, have trouble with writing and spelling and have NEVER heard of critical thinking before, then this school is a great place to get the basics. If you already know how to write a scholarly paper, use a computer and use proper spelling and grammar, you will be dividing your time between boredom and acting as de facto tutor to your classmates. School has VERY low admitting standards. Unresponsive to needs, customer service is very generic and unskilled. Poorly done videos and study products, including typos, contradictions and misspellings. School is not respected in the employment community.

This is a very good school over all. Everything is very understandable and little to no hassle. Can be difficult at times to get in touch with advisors and get information updated accordingly.
Good program, instructors provide great feedback — Sep 10, 2009

Good program, instructors provide great feedback, and writing center along with the library are wonderful. The inability to take a semester off without paperwork, lack of flexibility on scheduling - semester based or quarterly based is a weakness.

You need to be disciplined and organized to be in an online program. Lack of immediate feedback from instructors and staff.

The education that I receive is of the highest standard. I feel that I learn more at this school then I have at any other. The professors are one that understand the real world.
Do not recommend — Sep 10, 2009

I DO NOT recommend this school to anyone. Distant and impersonal; lack of support; inaccurate and misleading information from 'academic advisors;' incomplete responses to questions and concerns from faculty; constanly changing policies resulting in extending time to completion. The return on this investment of time and resources is negligible.
